Just attended the session on learning styles, very informative and a good way to get used to the live training facility.

Well the sessions were great. I attended 2 different sessions:

1) getting the most from student world
2) learning styles

Sitting in my comfort zone and at the same time getting classroom teaching was great.

Having been the first person to have completed my MCSA/MCSE and know after serious health problems to continue with out never having to reset a TMA and also who is an unforgettable name amongst the staff. May I also add that there are times when I cry when I don't receive my following course work quick enough, although that is just me being anxious.
As they say "those who can DEAL those who can't TEACH" thanks to you guys I'm know doing both.

Despite several mishaps with my course material and maintaining a full time job I have come through yet again and now achieved my third 100% TMA result.

I have now started a new job as an IT Security Officer for a large MOD establishment. The only way is up.

My brother's 13 year old son was getting very upset with his laptop, as it had been playing up for some time. Eventually it gave up all together and would not boot at all. My brother was going to through it away, so I asked him to let me have a look at it. With the troubleshooting & research knowledge I have gain whilst on this course I was able to track down the fault which turned out to be a bad memory chip slot. I put the memory chip in the vacant slot and the laptop came back to life. my nephew was very happy.

In the face of adversity I have had more than my fair share of personal problems this year, including a long stay in hospital where I was unable to study and also suffering an industrial injury where I was laid up for the best part of 7 weeks also unable to study.

My ultimate goal is to become an MCSE and possibly cisco engineer, but I believe the A+ & N+ are an important starting base. This is why I am studying them before studying the MCSE. To me, as an IT professional, I would need to know about legacy OS and devices as these are going to be around for a while, not everything is windows xp or vista just yet!

My goal of finishing this 2003 A+ course and doing the exam was looking unachievable when I called skills train to ask what I can do at the beginning of June 07. After talking to the skill train staff, I saw a glimmer of hope, but realised the exam would be out of the question however alot of hard work would be required to finninsh the course by the end of June and allow me to get the 2006 materials for revision purposes and so I would not have to study the 2006 course in its entirety, thus enabling me to take the 2006 A+ exam sooner rather than later.

I modified my goals to make sure that the 2003 course would be finished by the latest 28th June 2007. I have studied many hours in succession to attempt to catch up and realise my new goal. It was an important part of the process for me to continue with the high marks as anything below what I had already achieved I would view as a failure.

My strategy was to make the TMA's like a full exam. I removed the TMA pages from the sections so I would not be able to see them, I gave them to my wife who I asked to act a my moderator. I proceeded to study all course material by reading the books through again and again also researching other sources of information such as verified and authoritative web sites.

When I was feeling confident I sat down and proceeded to start the TMA's. I needed to complete by hand without reference to any material except my study notes, once this was done I was confident enough to complete the TMAs on the disk and send them in.

At the time of writing this I just have the final TMA, 26a to do which I will be doing tomorrow morning 26th June 2007, before going to start a night shift at work. Job Done.

A big thanks to my wife who has been very patient allowing me to pursue my Goal.

Being a parent, husband, employee and STUDENT, it was really hard work for me to get through my course, anyway I wrote my COMPTIA A+ EXAMANITAIONS and passed them with flying colors. Thanks to you all.

Having started on my A+ in October and having to look for a change in career due to ill health. I had managed to get to tma6 then realised that I wouldn't be able to finish before June due to my laptop being knocked over by my daughter and the screen getting seriously damaged. As we couldn't afford to buy a great big new "all singing dancing computer" I decided to build my own from components which obviously worked as I am sending this response to you.

What can I say I have not achieved what everyone else has achieved, but it is an achievement in its self starting the course and completing my first assignment, I am ready to do my second assignment on Wednesday and shall try my best to complete atleast 1 assignment a week from now on as I am now getting to grips with the knowledge and information there is to absorb.

I've just sold my house, my girlfriend has sold hers and we haven't found anywhere to live yet after being let down on the house of our dreams.
We both study hard for our relevent quals, and the only time we have is late into the night. So I surprisingly surpassed myself having achieved 100% on 5 out of my 1st 8 TMA's, mostly revised during candelight hours. I'm sure the long nights and droopy eyes in the morning will all be worth it in the end. After all it was my choice to take this on........for better or worse! :)

During March I dislocated my shoulder on my right arm and am right handed. I have been unable to use my arm for three weeks and will probably not be right for at least another month. In that time I have been able to complete my second set of work and tutor assignment using my left hand and one finger typing (doing the same now) and gained excellent results on my last tutor marked assignment. I am now half way through the next stage of my study.
